The facilities and equipment at the training centres are used to improve the knowledge, understanding and skills of seafarers in a safe environment. The hands-on experience is only second to using the systems and machinery at sea.

• Transas Liquid Cargo handling Simulator
• Transas ECDIS equipment with worldwide electronic navigation charts
• Transas Engine Control Room Simulator
• Electrical and Electronics Workshops
• Refrigeration, Hydraulic and Pneumatic System Trainers
• Programmable Logic Controller Trainer
• Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Trainer
• Planned Maintenance System Trainer
• Stowage Planning System Training Software for multipurpose vessels

• On load/off load release gear unit for enclosed lifeboats for demonstration purposes

Not all of the training venues have the full list of equipment available. Seafarers are welcome to travel to any centre to complete a course using a simulator or training system not provided at their local venue.

Accommodation and transport
Both the Mumbai and Kolkata training centres offer free guest house accommodation for non-local officers.

Transportation, if required, between the training centre and the guest house is available, including transfers from the airport and railway station.
